A traditional British Christmas cake - a rich fruitcake fed with brandy and left to mature for more than a month by Christmas day. Available naked, iced or with a nut & cherry topping. Serves 5-6 slices.

Cake: sultanas, raisins, currants, mixed peel (sugar, glucose, syrup, orange peel, lemon peel, salt, preservative E220), glace cherries (cherries, sugar, glucose fructose syrup, colour E127, citric acid, preservative E202 & E220), butter, sugar, egg, orange juice, orange zest, almonds, flour, baking powder, brandy, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger.
